Masterforce

Okay, I loved Headmasters, but I ADORE Masterforce (ps I use a more graphic verb for my feelings about Victory). Basically, this is Transformers crossed over with Power Rangers, and thus is pure love, so here's my run down again:
LOVE
There are ZOMBIES in episode 2 and 3!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE (Well Destroids technically)
Sixknight is basically Batman here, he appears from nowhere to save the day, and then goes away again...plus he can probably breathe in space <<
There are loads of non-animated-before characters here again, plus a lot of them use their Western counterpart's colours instead of the proper Japanese ones (weird) So we get DoubleDealer instead of Doubleclouder etc
The Humans actually do stuff instead of standing around cheering on the robots
The Pretender Technology makes more sense than in the Marvel comics
Brilliant Music and Animation
The Transtectors are able to drive by themselves as well as being driven (showing that they have some sentience)
The bases for both factions get destroyed quite a lot, requiring the factions to use some base modes instead (ie Overlord's base mode and Ginrai's one)
Master Braces are cool....AND COME IN KINDER EGGS!!!!!
They have very catchy catchphrases (MASTERFORCE!!! PRETENDER!!! SUIT ON!!! HEAD ON!!! GOD ON!!!)
Characters die, and then don't appear again in crowd scenes (here's looking at you Prowl!)
Wilder kills a puppy, just so Minerva will fight...WAHHHHHH (lol the puppy is named "Pis"
There's quite a bit of faction swapping as well, especially after DEvil Z starts showing his desire to kill all humans
Lightfoot is gay for Ginrai :D
HATE
THE DUB!!! MINERVA IS NOT NIGHTBEAT!!!
The action takes place just on Earth and the Moon :(
The humans muse be contortionists to turn into Heads and Engines :(
A MAJOR missed opportunity here, the Decepticon human characters could have stolen the Autobot Transtectors at some point, and posed as them, causing problems etc (ie Giga steals Ginrai and poses as him etc)
Okay I think that's it, I should be talking about Victory tomorrow :D Enjoy!!

Headmasters

Now My actual thoughts:
LOVE
The Trainbots - Lets face it...Robots that turn into trains are just cool and we didn't get enough over here in the west
The Headmasters - Whilst the Nebulon Headmasters are what I remember most, I actually prefer that the Headmasters in Japan were just purely robotic instead of little aliens in suits
Cybertron exploding - Who couldn't find that incredible
More toys!!! - Not more than we had in the West really, but I mean we see more toys on screen than we did in the West, like the Monsterbots, and most others having a larger role, like Punch or the Clones...and Sixshot of course
Ultra Magnus - I'm not a fan of Ultra Magnus, I admit that, I find him irritating really, but I loved his death scene..yeah..I'm a sadist
Combiners - So many combiners fighting *droooolllll*
A paced out intro for characters - Because Season 4 in the West was so contracted, you had like 50 new characters appear in one episode or something, at least in Headmasters we get episodes specifically for specific characters to be introduced
Targetmasters - I like how they aren't just guns (ie held by a handle), but weapons that actually attach to the larger robots
The bloodbath - These episodes have a lot of death in them, I mean not every episode, but certainly a lot of them
Sixshot - He got shafter in Season 4, now he has his revenge, he's Earth Commander, a super ninja, a mass murderer and later a defector, joining the Autobots as seen in Victory (as Greatshot) plus...you know...SIX ALT MODES!!!
Drunk robots - Hardhead gets drunk and makes Twincast act like a karaoke machine as he sings the closing themetune to the series, and Wheelie gets drunk too (LIGHTWEIGHT!)
HATE
Arcee - "Here's your tea Mr Maximus" is essentially her role in the series
DUB DUB DUB!!!! - I tried watching Headmasters in the dub form first, then I cried, I just couldn't watch it...now I tend to watch foreign films in subtitled form rather than dub, unless they are dubbed by a proper company like 4Kids or something
Daniel - Seriously? How old is he meant to be??
I'll probably update this every so often as stuff come to mind

Obscure Characters
I've been asked a few times why I love obscure characters or using them in stories etc, well simply put they're the easiest and most fun to write for
Basically I have these reasons specifically why:
1) They have little or no character development before that point, so you can give them pretty much anything to do or give them any back story and it'll be valid
2) You can teach other people about a lesser known character, rather than the heavily over-used Optimus Prime or Bumblebee
3) You can kill them off or do horrible things to them without anyone really moaning
4) Eventually if the character gets so popular again, then maybe Hasbro/Takara will make a new version of the character for a toyline lol
A very good example of this is Razorbeast, who was relatively unknown before "The Gathering" but afterwards he became a greatly sought after figure, same with Thunderwing (oh and look, he has a new toy coming out <<), Overlord, Basically all the Rookie Wreckers in LSOTW and many more
So that's why I prefer to use guys like Pyro, Swerve and Siren over Optimus, Bumblebee and Prowl
What does anyone else think?

And your name shall be.....
So what can we do to avert being offended by him...well I have a few easy ways
1) Ignore it!!
2) Do a comic using the character and do a comedy BLEEP whenever someone says the name
3) Rename him
I prefer the third option, so what do we call him? I've heard cases for Spasma, Drag Strip (NO!) or Concave, but here is my OFFICIAL RENAME SUGGESTION...

You may thank me later when you start seeing Frank in comics ;)

Wow
Wow I haven't updated this in months, I know I probably say this whenever I start again, but this time I aim to update it frequently enough...okay here's a random update...um....
I find the later released Mini-bots from G1 fascinating, despite them all being repaints/slight retools, I mean I'm a fan of the Windcharger mold as it is anyway, but Tailgate is just beautiful to me. Same with Swerve, I love the strawberries and cream colour scheme, and pipes with his same mold-different transformation to Huffer, which is just incredible
I promise next time I'll plan a topic rather than just looking for inspiration from my toy shelf lol
